How to care for leather hiking boots

Jane Cooper · 8 min read

Good leather boots can carry you through a decade of muddy trails, but only if you look after them between hikes. The routine takes ten minutes, and most of it is waiting.

Clean them after every hike

Knock off the dried mud, then brush the seams with lukewarm water. Skip dish soap: it strips the oils that keep leather supple. For stubborn stains, use a cleaner made for footwear leather.

Tip
Never dry boots by a fire or a radiator. Stuff them with newspaper and leave them at room temperature overnight.

Condition the leather twice a season

Conditioner puts back the oils that water and sun take out. Work a thin layer into clean, dry leather with your fingers, let it soak in for an hour, then buff off what's left.

Why Lexora

Fast and cheap used to mean rewriting it yourself.

A copywriter writes well, but slowly and at a price per piece. A chat assistant answers in seconds, but its articles sound generic, guess at facts and take hours to fix. Lexora is built for what's in between.

Product

What makes an article ready.

Four things a chat assistant can't do on its own, and Lexora does in every article.

Authors and voice

Written as your author, not as a chatbot.

Give Lexora a few texts your author wrote. It writes down their voice as rules you can read and change, and follows them in every article: how long their sentences run, how they talk to the reader, the words they never use.

  • Voice rules you can read and edit
  • Tone scales, from funny to serious and formal to casual
  • As many authors as your brands need

Knowledge Bases and sources

Facts from your sources, with links to prove them.

Upload product sheets, price lists, case files or notes. Lexora cites them and checks facts against them. It also researches the web, reads the sites you trust and studies your competitors' pages.

  • Every source listed with the article
  • Trusted sites and competitors per project

Questions

Before you start.

Anything else? Write to us and a person answers.

How close to publishable are the articles?

That's what Lexora is built for: an article you publish after a careful read and a few minutes of edits, not a draft you rewrite. Each one is reviewed and checked before it reaches you, and its findings tell you what's worth a look.

Will it sound like AI?

Lexora writes as your author, following voice rules taken from texts they wrote, not in a generic assistant's style. You can read and change those rules at any time.

Where do the facts come from?

From the web, the sites you trust, your Knowledge Bases and the files you add to a project or a task. Every source is listed with the article, and the Check reads the cited pages again to confirm what they say.

Which languages can it write in?

English, Ukrainian, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Russian. For a regional variant, such as British English or Brazilian Portuguese, say so in the project's or the task's instructions.

Can it publish to my site?

Today you copy the article into your CMS with its headings, links, pictures and publishing details, including a copy made for WordPress's block editor. Publishing straight to WordPress, now or at a set time, is coming soon.

Your next article, ready to publish.
